Sometimes it can be hard during a busy week to prep meals. I get home from work sometimes and just eat junk because I’m really to crash. Thankfully now we have companies like Paleo on the Go that we can use on those busy nights to provide us with a healthy meal. These products are all Paleo and the quality is something we can feel good about. Unlike those frozen dinners that are high in sodium and don’t focus on quality.
Paleo on the Go cares about their consumers and is always focusing on improving the quality of their products. All of their products are gluten free and almost all dairy free, a few of them have ghee. They even offer Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) friendly menu options to help people struggling with autoimmune conditions and the inflammation associated with them. Since I have celiac disease I often find myself with unexplained inflammation which may be a great time for me to have an AIP friendly meal. These meals in addition to being gluten free and dairy free are also nightshade free, egg free and nut free. I was able to get to try a variety of their products which I reviewed below and even included a video showing my first reaction! Believe me you won’t be disappointed.
Asian Chicken Burgers with Fried Rice: The burgers in this dish tasted so flavorful, both my dad and I were really impressed with the spices in this meal. I also enjoyed the cauliflower fried rice and honestly for the heck of it would try making this dish again myself with cauliflower!
Bacon Apple Chicken Burger with Maple Cranberry Sauce: I loved the cranberry sauce that was on top of these burgers. It gave the dish a nice sweet note with the savory bacon chicken burger. I thought these burgers didn’t have quite as many spices as the Asian chicken burgers, so if you’re looking to not get too much spice definitely give these ones a try. You even get 2 burgers with this meal!
Butternut Squash Lasagna with Beef: This lasagna was actually quite delicious. I was skeptical at first but basically it was lasagna noodles replaced with thin butternut squash slices and layers of grass fed ground beef and creamy cashew cheese. Every part of this dish was great, the ground beef was lean, the butternut squash had a great texture and the cashew cheese resembled a creamy ricotta like you would find in traditional lasagna. Definitely give this dish a try when placing your order, I promise you won’t regret it.
AIP Chicken Pot Pie: This pot pie had a crust made of cassava flour. Cassava is a root vegetable and a perfect way to get an alternative flour for a gluten free, grain free dish. I loved the high quality chicken that was in this dish. It even looked like it was all chicken breast which is rare when it comes to a frozen pot pie! Paleo on the Go surprises me with every dish though and turned out to be a higher quality then I expected.
Plantain Paleo Pancakes: I followed the directions for these pancakes and just let them thaw and ate them. Boy was I surprised how well they stayed together. So often with gluten free and grain free pastries/sweets we assume they will fall apart, but nope these has a great texture and stayed perfectly together. I would love to have these for breakfast any morning.
Apple Cinnamon Paleo Tarts: These paleo tarts are a delicious toaster pastry that is the perfect dessert. I loved that they weren’t too sweet and the icing on top was just the perfect finish for these. They are also made with cassava flour like the pot pie and were perfect after being toasted in my toaster oven for a few minutes.
