Located in the back of a shopping center in Lodi, CA we found Nixon Deli. I found this place on the Find Me Gluten Free App and called to verify what all the reviews said. I spoke to an employee who told me they have a completely separate area to make the gluten free sandwiches and put the cheese on last so none of the vegetables are cross contaminated with cheesy hands.
I came by on a Sunday I believe it was and honestly they looked closed so don’t be deceived it may look dark inside, but they are indeed open. It is run by a small family so just the owner was working. She was a nice lady and I verified everything I had been told over the phone about how they handle gluten free sandwiches was true so I was set. She even makes sure not to go between making my sandwich and then starting another sandwich that is not gluten free.
I decided to get the BLT on Udi’s white bread. Then I added cranberry sauce which I love so I was excited. Upon arrival of her bringing us our sandwiches I will admit I was quite disappointed on the size. I was hoping they did not use the grocery store bread and they actual used the commercial sized loaves. I guess not. :( Oh well it is a good option if you have celiac disease and need a bite to eat while coming through this area. You just might need to order two of them. :p
