I am very hesitant when it comes to gluten free licorice. Licorice was one of my favorite snacks pre-celiac diagnosis so when I learned it had wheat I was just so disappointed. I found this licorice at a specialty gluten free grocer and decided to give it a try. I tried the Black Licorice vines and the Raspberry pieces. While it was better than a lot of gluten free licorice I have had it was much to natural tasting for my palette. The flavor didn't stand at particularly well in either of these and again I was disappointed. Now I understand that the natural flavoring are better, but when you're a girl that's use to starburst's prominent flavors it is hard to get use to the natural candies.I probably would not get this again not just because of the taste, but the cross contamination risk for wheat is just far to high in their shared facility. I understand the cleaning process of the equipment, but still it is likely a risk I will avoid next time.
