Then my box arrived and boy was I excited. I received to sample a bag of their chocolate chip biscotti, cinnamon crackers, garlic pretzels, and a leaf of the cinnamon raisin bread. Below I have broken down my review for each individual product.
Chocolate Chip Biscotti (Free of: gluten, wheat, casein, dairy, yeast, soy, nut):
I tried the chocolate chip biscotti first and it is hard to say if this is any different than regular biscotti. I know biscotti is a try cookie and is kind of a morning cookie that you are suppose to have with coffee or tea, but I found these to be an overall pretty good and so did my dad. It was chocolate like a chocolate chip cookie with not very many chocolate chips. It was a sparse amount aof chocolate, but you still had some in every bite. My dad commented that they tasted kind of like a stale chocolate chip cookie, but not in a bad way. We thought they could have been a touch sweeter, just not quite sweet enough and they left a slightly grainy texture in your mouth. They were about 2/3 the size of regular biscotti, but we actually both liked the size. Overall a nice biscotti.
Cinnamon Crackers (Free of: gluten, wheat, casein, dairy, yeast, egg, soy, nut):
Next I had the cinnamon crackers, now before I tried these I tried to imagine what a cinnamon "cracker" would be like. I kept thinking of graham crackers, but I knew just by looking at these that wasn't what they were. These were much thinner and really like a crispy cracker. Which is much different for me since I don't think I have ever actually had a cinnamon flavored cracker. Upon opening and examining one there was plenty of cinnamon a top them which was exciting. Cinnamon was literally dropping off them as I ate them. The aroma of cinnamon was plentiful and taste was amazing, I was surprised that I actually enjoyed these. The only problem I had was how would I eat them besides just having them plain? Which I guess is what they are going after with these. Overall for me a lot better than I had originally expected! My dad loved the caramelized sugar on top and actually thought they were better than your typical graham cracker. They were boarding on a candy coated graham cracker feel he said and they were sweet, but in a good way.
Garlic Pretzels (Free of: gluten, wheat, casein, dairy, egg, nut):
When I saw I got garlic pretzels I was kind of surprised in the complete 360 in product. Everything else was sweet and desserty then I ended up with a super savory product, but I was up for anything. Upon opening the bag the aroma of garlic filled my nostrils, it was actually quite overwhelming. I took a handful of these out to try them and they were so garlicy I was done after just a few. The essence of garlic was quite overwhelming, but the texture was right on point with a pretzel. I would have liked to see these salted as well, it seems that would have maybe countered the garlic flavor a little bit. These are also not shaped like your typical pretzel these are round circles. My dad actually really liked these pretzels and said he could eat them all day long! He felt it has a mild garlic flavor and felt they had the exact same texture as non-gluten free pretzels. He mentioned that you would think they might get mushy in your mouth, but they actually don't. He overall enjoyed them.
Cinnamon Raisin Bread (Free of: gluten, wheat, casein, dairy, yeast, soy, nut): I think this must have been the winner for both my dad and I. We tried it toasted with earth balance on the toast and boy was it a winner. It didn't get as crunchy as some toast does, but it was still very good. We loved the texture and it tasted like the perfect flavor for cinnamon raisin bread. I could eat this bread every morning!
Along with all these products they make a wide array of others from pizza shells, to flours & mixes, and even egg substitute for those with egg allergies.
