This last weekend I went by target to get something to make for lunch for my dad and I. The whole family was gone and I needed to figure out something that both of us could/would eat. He’s picky while I am just vey restricted due to having celiac disease and a dairy allergy. I ventured around target looking for something tasty. To my disappointment they were out of a few of the meats I planned on cooking to have in addition to gluten free pasta. So plan B turned into Ian’s gluten free corn dos when I spotted them in the freezer aisle and on sale!
I happily threw a box into my basket and made my way home to make these babies. I was pretty surprised to read then box and find out along with being gluten free they are dairy free, nut free, soy free, egg free, and peanut free. Wow last I checked I believe these are actually completely allergen free. Wow score! Means that these can appeal to a wide audience and hopefully companies like this will continue to thrive!
I followed the oven directions as these say right on the box that microwaving is not recommended. They came out of the oven nice and hot and ready to be eaten. We devoured them with our mustard and they were popular with both of us. Wat we liked was the corn coating on the outside on these mini corn dogs was actually a little chewy. This may sound weird to some but it was actually really good and the main reason we both liked them so much. I will definitely be buying some more of these and introducing the boy to them as well. :)
