With Thanksgiving just around the corner I figured I needed to post about what I'm doing and how I'm going about getting my turkey and ham. This year I'm going out to my grandma's to cook the big meal for 10 of our family members. What's going to make it interesting is I am cooking it completely gluten and dairy free. We have all the recipes ready, but we decided to get the ham and turkey from my local Honey Baked Ham store so that it would save us at least a little bit of trouble. I went into the Pleasanton Location today to one pick up a turkey breast for dinner tonight and two to place my order for thanksgiving. To the left I've posted a picture of the ingredients in the Ham, Turkey Breast, and the Glaze. This was posted by the cashier at my local Honey Baked Ham store. As you can see it says gluten free and according to the manager of this store it is indeed dairy free as well. According to the ingredients both those statements check out for me. I've had there turkey breast with the glaze many times and have never had an issue. It's absolutely delicious and if you're going to be swamped with other cooking this holiday season I think this is a great place to save yourself some trouble. Now I wasn't able to find any information on the ingredients in the sides, but I'm sure if you talked to your local store you'd be able to find out. I wasn't concerned, because I already am making everything else. I placed my holiday order of two plain turkey breast (no glaze) one smoked and one roasted. Now keep in mind they don't offer this, but my location is willing to just give me one of the ones from the walk-in before they glaze it. I am also getting a 6-7 pound ham which feeds just 8 people, but since were not a big ham family I figured this would be fine. If you got to Honey Baked Ham's website here, you can find a store close to you or even order it to be mailed to you if you aren't near a location.
